17 States to Experience Flooding from July 21 to 27 – NIHSA Warns
The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) has issued a Medium Flood Risk Advisory for 17 states between July 21 and July 27, 2026, warning of possible localized flooding along major river channels and floodplains.
The affected states are:
- Adamawa
- Bauchi
- Benue
- Borno
- Edo
- Gombe
- Imo
- Jigawa
- Kaduna
- Kano
- Kebbi
- Nasarawa
- Niger
- Plateau
- Taraba
- Yobe
- Zamfara
- NIHSA advised residents in flood-prone communities to remain vigilant, avoid flooded roads and bridges, and comply with evacuation directives where necessary. State emergency agencies have also been urged to strengthen preparedness and response measures.
