The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that it will publish the particulars of candidates contesting the 2027 Presidential and National Assembly elections on August 14, 2026, in line with the revised timetable and schedule of activities for the general elections.
According to the Commission, the publication of candidates’ details marks a crucial stage in the electoral process, providing Nigerians, political parties, and other stakeholders the opportunity to scrutinize the credentials of all nominated candidates ahead of the polls.
INEC reiterated that political parties must strictly comply with the electoral timetable, warning that no further extensions should be expected beyond the revised deadlines. The Commission emphasized that adherence to the schedule is essential to ensure a transparent, credible, and orderly electoral process.
The publication of candidates’ particulars is expected to pave the way for the official campaign season, as parties intensify preparations for the January 16, 2027 Presidential and National Assembly elections.

INEC has assured Nigerians of its commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible elections, urging all stakeholders to play their roles in safeguarding the integrity of the 2027 electoral process.
