Not Again!! Historic Maggie Valley Motel Destroyed by Fire been a staple of the community since its opening in 1959. The motel, which had recently reopened after being closed for over a decade, was gutted by flames in a two-part fire that occurred on December 21, 2024.
The first fire was reported around 2 p.m. on Saturday, with multiple fire departments, including Maggie Valley Fire and Rescue and the Junaluska Fire Department, responding to the scene. By the time crews arrived, several rooms were already ablaze, and the fire quickly spread throughout the motel. A second fire broke out early the following morning, further devastating the structure.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, as the motel was unoccupied at the time of the fires. The cause of the fires remains under investigation.
