France’s Paris – After guiding the United States to their fifth consecutive gold medal, LeBron James wrapped up an incredible run to win the Men’s Olympic Basketball Tournament in Paris 2024 by winning the Most Valuable Player trophy. James
finished the Gold Medal Game with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists, and 2 steals in the USA’s 98-87 victory over the host France. In winning his third gold medal, the seasoned player averaged 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game.
James, who is 39 years old, had the entire tournament in his grasp. His most memorable moment may have been recording his second
Olympic triple-double, and only the fourth overall, with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists in the USA’s exciting Semi-Finals comeback triumph over Serbia.
Alongside James in the All-Star Five were Stephen Curry of the United States, Nikola Jokic of Serbia, Dennis Schroder of Germany, and Victor Wembanyama of France. Curry showed off his skills in the Semi-Finals, making nine three-pointers for 36
points. In the Gold Medal Game, he added eight three-pointers for 24 points. Curry, who was competing in his debut Olympics, ended each game with 3.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 14.8 points on 47.8 percent three-point shooting. Wembanyama led the
French team in scoring with 15.8 points, rebounds with 9.7, assists with 3.3, steals with 2.0, and blocks with 1.7 per game despite competing in his first Olympics at the age of just 20. But in the Gold Medal Game, his 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists were not enough.
