Inspiring Fellow Pilgrims: Reflections on the Coastal Camino and the Espiritual Variant

Hello, dear pilgrims! One of the greatest joys of walking the Camino is the chance to share experiences and inspire others preparing for their own journeys. After completing the Camino Francés and later exploring the Portuguese Coastal Route and the Espiritual Variant, I felt called to document the beauty, challenges, and spiritual discoveries along the way. This inspiration became my book, Follow the Yellow Arrows.
The Portuguese Coastal Route is a breathtaking path that weaves together the rhythm of the sea, the warmth of the local people, and the deep sense of peace that comes with every step. From Porto’s vibrant energy to the quiet fishing villages and the rolling waves of the Atlantic, the route offers moments of reflection and renewal. The Espiritual Variant, with its serene monasteries and the symbolic boat journey to Padrón, adds a uniquely contemplative dimension—truly a pilgrimage within a pilgrimage.
I was deeply touched by a recent reader review that said: “Having walked the Camino Francés and planning to do the Portuguese in the fall, this book was great. The author did an excellent job reviewing her experiences along with supplying very good information. I found it helpful for future planning.” Hearing that my reflections are helping others prepare fills me with gratitude and reminds me that the Camino spirit continues long after the final steps into Santiago.
Thank you to everyone who has read Follow the Yellow Arrows and taken the time to share your thoughts on Amazon. If you’d like to continue this Camino adventure, you can also journey with me through Walking to the End of the World. May your path be blessed, your pack be light, and your heart open to every yellow arrow that leads the way.
