My Husband is missing – he may be on the Camino. Please help us by sharing!
My name is Kasia, I’m from Poland. In 2023, my boyfriend Igor and I walked the Camino del Norte, and in 2024 we did the Camino Portugues all the way to Finisterre. The Camino was very special to us. Igor loved it deeply. We dreamed of doing it again someday—maybe by bike.
On May 29, 2025, Igor went missing without a trace. He left home without documents, bank cards, or telling anyone—me, his mother, or any friends—what he was planning. This is completely unlike him. Igor is a warm, responsible, caring person who always helped others. The police are actively investigating.
There are signs he may have left by choice, but we fear something happened to his mental health—perhaps a depressive episode. That’s why we believe he might have gone back to the Camino. It meant so much to him. He could be walking one of the routes again, or maybe volunteering somewhere at an albergue, too ashamed or afraid to reach out.
Igor is Ukrainian, fluent in English, Polish, Ukrainian, and Russian. He is strong, kind, and able to walk long distances daily.
Please—if you work in a church, albergue, or with pilgrims, or are walking the Camino yourself, keep your eyes open. Someone might see him.
Any information, even the smallest clue, could help us find him.
Thank you so much for reading and for sharing this.
Kasia
