Iowa women’s basketball star Hannah Stuelke earns spot on 2025 USA Women’s AmeriCup Team
The 12-player team will compete in the AmeriCup in Santiago, Chile, from June 28 to July 6.
This will be Stuelke’s first time competing with USA Basketball.
The AmeriCup winner qualifies for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin.
Iowa women’s basketball player Hannah Stuelke has been named to the 2025 USA Women’s AmeriCup Team.
USA Basketball announced June 19 that Stuelke was named to the 12-player roster. The team will compete in the AmeriCup on June 28-July 6 at Santiago, Chile.
Team USA held a camp scheduled for June 16-24 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
Tryouts and selections were made during the first few days of the camp.
Stuelke will be a Hawkeyes senior in the fall. She was a second-team All-Big Ten selection last season and scored 400+ points for the second straight year. Stuelke averaged 12.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.
Stuelke will be a part of a USA team that will open Group B by playing host nation Chile, followed by Colombia, Puerto Rico and Mexico. The winner of the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup will earn a berth to the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup, which will take place in Berlin, Germany, next summer.
The 2025 USA Women’s AmeriCup Team includes Stuelke, Raegan Beers, Mikayla Blakes, Madison Booker, Audi Crooks, Joyce Edwards, Hannah Hidalgo, Flau’jae Johnson, Gianna Kneepkens, Olivia Miles, Kennedy Smith and Grace VanSlooten.
Beers, Crooks, Johnson, Kneepkens and Stuelke will be making their competitive debuts with USA Basketball.
Kara Lawson (Duke) will serve as head coach with assistant coaches DeLisha Milton-Jones (Old Dominion) and Jennie Baranczyk (Oklahoma).
Crooks and her Iowa State teammate Addy Brown tried out for the team. Brown did not make the roster.
