On the morning of April 27, 2025 a medical emergency unfolded at the North Myrtle Beach Aquatic and Fitness Center during a Water Fitness Class when a participant, Sue Kerchner, experienced a seizure in the pool. Thanks to the immediate, courageous actions of our staff and members, the situation was handled swiftly and expertly, ensuring Sue’s safety and wellbeing.

We want to take this moment to recognize and sincerely thank Jennifer Rossini, Julia Muller, Joan Mangiulli, Micky Frey, Jonathan Kerr, Hannah Hovaker, and Stephen Frey. Because of your swift and selfless efforts, Sue received the critical care she needed without delay, ensuring her safety until EMS arrived to take over. The outcome could have been far different had it not been for your extraordinary response. You exemplify the very best of our community, and we are deeply grateful.

This morning, we had the privilege of honoring these heroes at the Aquatic & Fitness Center, recognizing their extraordinary bravery and quick action.
