Maggie Valley Fire and Rescue is sad to announce the passing of our friend and brother, Captain Jason Moody.
Jason has been a dedicated and brave member of our department for over 30 years – starting June 1, 1986 as a volunteer, then full-time fire fighter, and, most recently Captain. His passing was sudden and the loss is surreal. He has mentored and served as an older brother and father figure for generations of our volunteer fire fighters. Before coming full-time to Maggie Valley Fire and Rescue, Jason retired as Captain of Maggie Valley Police Department.
Tonight, our department and several others will honor Captain Moody by escorting him home from Mission Hospital.
We grieve this loss with his familly and offer his wife and daughter all of our love, prayers, and support.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time.
