1-year-old accidentally shot by sibling in Cleveland County, sheriff says
A 1-year-old was accidently shot by their sibling in Cleveland County on Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies said the shooting happened on Buck Horn Lane in Lawndale, which is about a mile off West Stage Coach Trail.
The baby’s 3-year-old sibling was reportedly the one who pulled the trigger.
The sheriff’s office said the 1-year-old was taken to Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte and is expected to fully recover.
“The investigation is still ongoing however, I would like to express the importance of proper firearm storage and safety as this incident could have been much more tragic,” Cleveland County Sheriff Alan Norman said in a news release..
