Broad Daylight Gunfire: Soda Delivery Driver Shot At in Greenfield

Residents of Greenfield were shaken Tuesday afternoon after a soda delivery driver was allegedly targeted in a brazen daylight shooting that unfolded in a normally quiet neighborhood.
According to local authorities, the incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. as the driver was making a routine beverage drop-off along a residential route. Investigators say a man, whose identity has not yet been publicly released pending formal charges, is accused of firing multiple shots in the direction of the delivery truck. The driver was not struck by gunfire and was able to quickly leave the area and call 911.
Police responded within minutes, securing the scene and canvassing nearby homes for witnesses and surveillance footage. Officers later located and detained a suspect without further incident. No additional injuries were reported.
Neighbors described hearing several loud pops before seeing the delivery truck speed away. “At first I thought it was construction,” one resident said. “Then I realized it was gunshots. It’s terrifying to think something like this can happen in the middle of the day.”
Authorities have not yet released a motive, but early reports suggest the shooting may have stemmed from a dispute. Detectives continue to interview witnesses and review evidence collected at the scene.
The delivery driver, though shaken, is expected to be physically unharmed. Company representatives have not yet issued a public statement.
Police are urging anyone with additional information to contact the Greenfield Police Department as the investigation remains ongoing.
