Beginning January 1st, ALL regular household trash placed curbside must be rinsed clean before collection.
This update follows new “sanitation consistency guidelines” adopted by the city.
Requirements include:
• Food containers (plastic, metal, glass) must be fully rinsed.
• Styrofoam must be wiped or washed to remove residue.
• Cardboard or paper packaging used for food must be rinsed and dried before being bagged.
• Any loose debris stuck to items must be removed to avoid “bin contamination.”
• Trash not meeting the new cleanliness standard will be left at the curb with a notice.
