Carving out time to walk a lesser-crowded Camino with his parents, our writer found himself immersed in several days of more than just walking, with reconnection, rain, morriña, mudbaths and random moments of magic
On the second day of a pilgrimage with my parents on the Portuguese Way, we were treated to an hour and a half of driving rain.
Within minutes of setting out, we were soaked from the toes up, along with the other lunatics who chose to do this for a holiday. There were less ‘Buen Caminos’ between fellow pilgrims that day, and more curt nods through tunnel-vision hoods.
