Luisa & Carlo’s Amazing Journey: From France to Santiago de Compostela at 78 and 80!

On September 15, our two incredible heroes, Luisa and Carlo Amadei — aged 78 and 80 — set out on a remarkable adventure: walking the French Camino all the way to Santiago de Compostela. Today, after weeks of determination, laughter, and countless steps, they finally reached their destination! Their journey is not just a physical achievement but a true testament to courage, perseverance, and the timeless spirit of discovery.
Luisa and Carlo began their pilgrimage filled with curiosity and enthusiasm, carrying only the essentials — and a big dose of positivity. Along the way, they crossed mountains, valleys, and villages, meeting fellow travelers from around the world who shared stories, meals, and moments of encouragement. Despite their age, they faced every challenge with smiles and humor, proving that passion and willpower can take you farther than you ever imagine.
Each day on the Camino brought new experiences: breathtaking landscapes at sunrise, quiet moments of reflection, and the joy of small victories — one stage at a time. They walked through rain and sunshine, shared laughter with strangers who became friends, and rediscovered the beauty of simple living.
Today, standing before the Cathedral of Santiago, they can look back with pride at what they’ve accomplished. Their story reminds us all that it’s never too late to chase a dream, to take a step toward something meaningful, or to explore the world with an open heart.
If anyone along the Camino met Luisa and Carlo, we’d love to hear from you! Their journey has inspired many — and perhaps, without knowing it, they’ve inspired you too. Buen Camino, Luisa and Carlo!
