‘Tears of joy’: Canadian Co. judge orders repeat offender, accused of rape, to prison
CANADIAN COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) — A Canadian County judge sentenced a man, facing allegations of rape, to 10 years in prison and a decade more on probation for violating the terms of a previous probation agreement.
The case is tied to Thomas Hall III, better known as Trey Hall to News 4 sources familiar with Hall. In 2018, Hall was arrested for pushing and choking a woman he was in a relationship with. Hall was arrested again a month later for stalking the same woman. Court documents say Hall pled guilty in connection to both cases. Hall was sentenced to six months in jail for the stalking case. Hall was handed a 7-year deferred sentence for the domestic abuse case.
A year later, an Oklahoma City police report and court documents say Hall was cited for getting into a fight at an Oklahoma City bar and was sent back to jail for four weekends, because he violated a probation agreement.
Hall was still under that agreement in November of 2024 when a woman, who agreed to speak with News 4 on the condition of anonymity, alleges he raped her.
“He broke into my house and sexually assaulted me in front of my child,” the woman told News 4.
The woman admits she and Hall had previously slept together, but she said she ended things months before the incident. A Mustang police report says Hall was arrested at her home and booked on a rape complaint. That same case is cited in court documents that led to a July 23 sentencing of Hall to prison, but he has never been formally charged by the Canadian County District Attorney’s office.
“I think he needs to be registered as a sex offender because he did hurt us and I think that he should serve his time for the rape charge and not just the domestic assault,” the woman said.
Hall’s attorney, Scott Adams, told News 4 at Wednesday’s court appearance he planned on appealing the case, adding that Hall’s legal team disagreed with some of the evidence that came into the case. However, Adams did acknowledge that Hall takes responsibility for violating the terms of his probation.
“Trey understands that there were some probationary things that he should have done that he did, and now he’s got to pay the price for it,” said Adams.

The woman who says Hall raped her disagrees that he’s paying enough of a price, but says Wednesday’s decision was a relief.
“I cried tears of joy,” said the woman. “It was just like a weight lifted off my shoulders.”
News 4 reached out to the Canadian County District Attorney’s office for comment Thursday and received the following statement:
We appreciate that Judge Paul Hesse took the time to consider all the evidence presented and the totality of the defendant’s criminal record in handing down a twenty (20) year sentence- ten (10) years in prison followed by ten (10) years of supervised probation.
We are inspired by the victims who bravely testified and persevered through a grueling hearing to ensure the defendant was held accountable. Because of their bravery, the defendant is now a convicted felon and is going to prison for the first time.
