Richmond woman charged with robbery, domestic battery in attack on her mother

RICHMOND, Ind. — A Richmond woman has been accused of attacking her mother and taking her cellphone
Angelrae Paige Wiley, 34, was charged in recent days in Wayne Superior Court 2 with robbery resulting in bodily injury, domestic battery with a deadly weapon and criminal confinement.
Richmond police said the 64-year-old mother told them she and her daughter had been arguing when the older woman threatened to call police.
The mother said Angelrae Wiley then punched her repeatedly in the face, wrestled her to the floor, took her cellphone and then stood up and placed her foot on her mother’s stomach.
Officers said the mother also had small puncture wounds in her right calf, perhaps inflicted with a fork.

The mother was examined by ambulance personnel, but she declined to be taken by ambulance to Reid Hospital.
Wiley told officers her mother had started the altercation. Another witness confirmed the mother’s account, according to an affidavit. Officers had been called to the family’s South 14th home on Sunday afternoon.
Wiley was released from the Wayne County Jail after posting bond.
The robbery charge against her is a Level 3 felony carrying up to 16 years in prison.
At the time of her latest arrest, Wiley already faced two charges — robbery resulting in bodily injury and theft — filed against her in July, also in Superior Court 2. Her trial in that case is set for June 9
The Richmond woman has been convicted of possession of cocaine, unlawful possession of a syringe and resisting law enforcement.
