Chaos at Simi Valley Theater: Late-Night Assault Sparks Police Response on Tapo Canyon Road
Simi Valley, CA – A late-night movie screening turned chaotic Saturday night when an assault erupted inside a Simi Valley theater, prompting a swift response from local police.
According to the Simi Valley Police Department, officers were dispatched around 11:00 p.m. to the theater located on Tapo Canyon Road after receiving multiple reports of a physical altercation. Witnesses described the scene as “sudden and terrifying,” with moviegoers scrambling for exits as the incident unfolded.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved, but initial reports indicate that at least one person was injured during the confrontation. Paramedics were seen arriving shortly after police to treat the victim, whose condition remains unknown at this time.
“It happened out of nowhere,” said one witness who asked to remain anonymous. “We were just watching the movie when people started yelling. Then it looked like punches were thrown, and security tried to step in.”
Police secured the scene and cleared the theater, temporarily shutting down all screenings for the rest of the night. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to piece together what led to the altercation.
At this point, it’s unclear whether any arrests have been made. Authorities have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has additional information to come forward.
The incident has left the Simi Valley community shaken, with many questioning the safety measures in place at local entertainment venues. Theater management has not issued a public statement but is said to be cooperating fully with the investigation.
As of now, the theater has resumed normal operations, though heightened security was observed on Sunday.
