Little River Boat Party Shooting Suspect Returned to Horry County — Shocking New Details Emerge
HORRY COUNTY, S.C. — The suspect at the center of a violent boat party shooting in Little River has been extradited back to Horry County, sparking renewed attention on a case that stunned the local community.
According to the Horry County Police Department, 26-year-old , who had been apprehended out of state earlier this month, arrived in South Carolina late Wednesday night. He faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and reckless endangerment.
The incident occurred during a Memorial Day weekend boat party on the Intracoastal Waterway near Little River, where authorities say a dispute escalated into gunfire, injuring three individuals. Witnesses reported chaotic scenes as partygoers jumped into the water and fled in boats to escape the shooting.
Investigators quickly identified as the alleged shooter through eyewitness accounts, surveillance footage from nearby docks, and social media posts. He was arrested last week in following a multi-agency manhunt.
Horry County police confirmed that the suspect is now being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bond. A preliminary hearing is expected within the next week.
“We’re committed to ensuring justice for the victims and holding this individual accountable,” said Horry County Police Chief Joe Hill. “This type of violence has no place in our community.”
The shooting has raised concerns about safety and law enforcement presence during large-scale gatherings on local waterways. County officials are now reviewing event policies and may increase patrols during peak boating seasons.
Anyone with additional information or video footage from the incident is encouraged to contact Horry County authorities or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
