Breaking: Myrtle Beach Police Investigating Ocean Boulevard Shooting Incident
Myrtle Beach, SC – June 16, 2025* — Myrtle Beach police are actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred late Sunday night along the busy North Ocean Boulevard, a popular stretch frequented by both tourists and locals.
According to the Myrtle Beach Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire near the 800 block of North Ocean Boulevard just before 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, law enforcement found one individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition, police said.
The area was quickly cordoned off as investigators collected evidence and interviewed witnesses. Multiple shell casings were recovered at the scene, and surveillance footage from nearby businesses is being reviewed to identify potential suspects.
“At this time, we believe this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public,” said Captain Erica Simmons of the Myrtle Beach Police Department during a brief press conference early Monday morning. “We’re asking anyone who may have seen or recorded anything unusual in the area last night to contact our tip line.”
No arrests have been made as of Monday morning, but police are following several leads. Authorities are urging the public to avoid speculation as the investigation continues.
Traffic along North Ocean Boulevard was temporarily diverted during the investigation, causing minor delays for drivers and late-night pedestrians. The area has since reopened.
This incident comes as the city braces for a busy summer season, with increased patrols already in place to manage crowds and ensure public safety.
