Chaos in Maggie Valley: Mass Shooting Erupts at Party, Leaving One Dead, 11 Hospitalized
Maggie Valley, NC — A Saturday night celebration turned into a scene of horror as gunfire erupted during a party in Maggie Valley, leaving one person dead and at least 11 others injured. Authorities responded to multiple 911 calls reporting an active shooter shortly after 11:30 p.m.
According to Haywood County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred at a large private gathering attended by dozens of people. The motive behind the attack remains under investigation, and no suspects have been publicly identified. Law enforcement officers are urging witnesses to come forward with any information that may aid the investigation.
Emergency crews transported 11 injured individuals to nearby hospitals. Their conditions range from stable to critical. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
