Maggie Valley Man Laces Wife’s Coke with Drugs in Shocking Plot to Marry Her Daughter
A Maggie Valley man is facing serious charges after allegedly poisoning his wife’s Coca-Cola with a dangerous cocktail of drugs in a disturbing attempt to marry her daughter.
Authorities say the man, whose name has not yet been released pending ongoing investigation, spiked his wife’s soft drink with a mixture of cocaine, MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy), and benzodiazepines. The intent, investigators allege, was to incapacitate or potentially kill his wife so he could pursue a romantic relationship with her adult daughter.
The alarming scheme came to light when the woman began experiencing unusual symptoms and was rushed to a local hospital. Toxicology reports confirmed the presence of multiple controlled substances in her system, prompting an immediate criminal investigation.
Detectives uncovered disturbing evidence suggesting premeditation, including online searches and messages that pointed to the man’s infatuation with his stepdaughter and plans to remove his wife from the picture.
“This is one of the most unsettling cases we’ve seen in some time,” said a spokesperson for the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office. “The calculated nature of this alleged act and the family dynamics involved are both shocking and tragic.”
The wife is reportedly recovering, while the suspect is being held without bond. Authorities have charged him with attempted murder, poisoning, and multiple drug-related offenses.
The case remains under investigation, with additional charges possible. Officials are urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue to piece together the full scope of the plot.
