HAPPENING NOW: Richmond PD arrests woman after reportedly attacking father with axe
A woman was arrested on Wednesday after she reportedly attacked her father with an axe.
According to officials with the Richmond Police Department, the Wayne County Emergency Communications Center received a call that reported that a woman had attacked her father with an axe, leaving him with severe injuries.
Officers were able to locate her at her home, where the incident reportedly took place. The woman’s father was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

During an initial investigation, the department said that the father was reportedly sprayed in the face with a fire extinguisher before he was attacked. The man reportedly sustained a “severe laceration to his left hand while attempting to defend himself.”
The woman was arrested and is facing charges.
The department said that this remains an active investigation.
