In a disheartening turn of events, Cole Altizer, the 34-year-old pastor of Maggie Valley United Methodist Church in North Carolina, has been placed on administrative leave following allegations of misappropriating $540 from the church’s funds for personal expenses.
The discrepancy was uncovered during a routine financial review when church officials noticed the funds were missing. Board Chair Ken Brown expressed his dismay over the situation, stating, “It’s an upsetting circumstance.”
