Richmond PD arrests woman after reportedly attacking father with axe
A 22-year-old woman was arrested on Wednesday after she reportedly attacked her father with an axe.
According to officials with the Richmond Police Department, the Wayne County Emergency Communications Center received a call that reported that a woman, later identified as Ashley Goss, had attacked her father with an axe, leaving him with severe injuries.
Officers were able to locate Goss at her home, where the incident reportedly took place. Goss’s father was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

During an initial investigation, the department said that the victim was reportedly sprayed in the face with a fire extinguisher before he was attacked. The victim reportedly sustained a “severe laceration to his left hand while attempting to defend himself.”
Goss was arrested on the following preliminary charges:
One count of attempted murder, a Level 1 felony
One count of aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony
The department said that this remains an active investigation.
