Patti Smith became ill while on tour in Italy and was admitted to the hospital for a short period of time. The 76-year-old singer was scheduled to perform in
Bologna, but she had to postpone the event owing to a “sudden illness,” as the Teatro Duse venue in the city put it. She was checked out at a city hospital.
Smith had been released from the hospital and was in good health, according to a statement from the Bologna health authorities. They also expressed
excitement about her performing again “after an appropriate period of rest”. Smith also canceled two events that were scheduled for later this week: a
