Vancouver, British Columbia – General Manager of the Vancouver Canucks, Patrik Allvin, revealed today that the team and goaltender Kevin Lankinen had reached
an agreement on a one-year, $875k contract. Allvin stated, “Kevin is an accomplished NHL player who will strengthen our depth in goal.” “He possesses the
size and skill set we look for in a goaltender, and he had a strong season in Nashville last year. We can’t wait for him to arrive and begin working with our
team. 29-year-old Lankinen played in 24 games for the Nashville Predators inboasting a 2.82 goals-against average, a.908 save percentage, and one
shutout while posting an 11-6-0 record. With 112 career regular season appearances, split between Chicago and Nashville, the 6’2”, 190-pound goalie has
a record of 45-43-12, a 3.07 goals-against average, a.905 save percentage, and three shutouts. The native of Helsinki, Finland, has played for his nation
on several times. At the 2019 World Championship, he went 7-1-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average, a.942 save percentage, and two shutouts to help
Finland win the gold medal. The Chicago Blackhawks signed Lankinen as an undrafted free agent on May 21, 2018.
