will keep him and his family in our prayers. He’ll return on Monday. On game day, Spencer Whipple will assume his responsibilities. Whipple’s unofficial jobs include, but are not limited to, exceeding
expectations as the backup play caller for a 2021 game in the event that Kliff Kingsbury tested positive for COVID-19 and filling in as the RBs coach halfway
through 2022. The latter occurred after assistant running back James Saxon was let go after entering a guilty plea in a domestic assault case.
Whipple’s adaptability, which Gannon lusts after, is immensely beneficial to the coach and the new administration. Whipple stated to Arizona Sports in
August that “you want to get exposed as much as possible, especially early in your career, no matter where you’re at.” “Just interacting with other coaches and being in various positions to absorb that
knowledge.” Each coach employs slightly different teaching strategies in addition to having varying degrees of football expertise. Each person approaches it in a unique way.
