Jarrett Stidham is aware that youngster Bo Nix will start at quarterback for the Denver Broncos to start the season, and he will not be the starting quarterback. That being said, he need not be overjoyed about it. After the final preseason game on Sunday, Stidham stated that while he will support the youngster, he thinks the quarterback is ready to start.
“First of all, I was obviously very disappointed,” Stidham stated in reference to his loss of the starting position. “I understand that in this league, I start at quarterback. It just didn’t work out for me, and I have no worries about it. I am aware of the type of person
and player I am. As I mentioned before, I’ll be prepared to go if necessary. As previously stated, I’m positive that I’m
Stidham, a former New England fourth-round selection, has started two games in each of the last two campaigns. He got an opportunity to make an
impression on Sean Payton at the conclusion of 2023 after replacing a benched Russell Wilson. While not spectacular, the 28-year-old did enough to save the
team from selecting a rookie in the first round. Denver ultimately decided Stidham’s fate after Nix was drafted. “I think they know what I can do,” he
replied. “I believe I demonstrated it last year during practice, training camp, OTAs, and any other situation when I was expected to play in the final two games. I’m going to go out there and do what I do at the end of the day.
