Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was released from the hospital on Sunday morning after suffering a serious shoulder injury in the team’s preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
According to insiders, the injury is comparable to that experienced by former Chiefs wide out Tyreek Hill in 2019. Hill’s injury required a reduction operation but did not involve surgery, as does Brown’s. Following an
evaluation at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Brown was cleared to return to Kansas City. The rapid discharge indicates that the injury was successfully treated without the need for surgery. While this is
encouraging news, Brown’s recuperation schedule is unknown, and his availability for the Chiefs’ season opener against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5 is now in doubt.
Following the game, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid issued a quick update on Brown’s status, saying, “I believe he will miss some time. We’ll just see where it is… they’re working through it right now, and we’ll learn more later.
