Devils Are Team to Beat in Metropolitan Division

Among the biggest surprises of the 2022–2023 NHL season were the New Jersey Devils. Following ten years of a lackluster season, the Devils made it to the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, where they defeated the formidable New York Rangers team in the first round.

Before the 2023–24 season, hopes were high, but the Devils finished the season in the lower half of the Metropolitan Division due to injuries and poor goaltending. The Devils have made significant progress toward their goal of winning the Stanley Cup by building a much stronger team and demonstrating

that they are superior than their performance from the previous campaign. The Devils brought Tomas Tatar back for their forward corps and added Brett Pesce and Brenden Dillon on their blue line. OneBoudreau also mentioned that the Devils had a

new coach that has experience leading potent offenses. Sheldon Keefe, a former head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs, was hired by the Devils and will likely serve as a great offensive coordinator. Boudreau stated, “Sheldon Keefe has coached an offensive team.” “They can score in any situation. It

doesn’t matter how poor their defense is—they can score. They now have a goalie and more defense. Although the Rangers are the current holders of the President’s Trophy for the finest regular season squad, Boudreau continues to think that the Devils

are the superior team on the surface. Boudreau stated, “I do think I’m looking at the Devils on paper.” “If they’re healthy, they ought to be difficult to defeat.” Well-being will be a
